Terms of Service

DuckWatermark removes watermark markers from text you supply. It does this in two passes: an exact pass that strips invisible and non-standard characters, and a rewrite pass that reduces the wording and cadence markers typical of generated prose.

You need an account to run the rewrite pass. Scanning is free and needs no account.

The character-level pass is deterministic. Every marker we list is removed, and you can verify it yourself by re-scanning the result.

The rewrite pass is not deterministic. It is instructed to preserve meaning, facts, structure and length, and it is conservative by design, but it is a language model and you are responsible for reading the result before you use it.

We make no claim that any output will or will not be identified as machine-generated by any particular tool. Detection systems are proprietary, change without notice, and disagree with one another. Any service claiming a guarantee here is not being straight with you.

The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for how you use the output.

You must have the right to the text you submit.

You are responsible for complying with the rules that apply to you. If you are submitting work to a school, an employer, a publisher or a platform, their policies on machine-generated content and on disclosure apply to you regardless of what this tool does. Using it does not make undisclosed AI-generated work compliant with a rule requiring disclosure.

Do not use the service to impersonate a person or organisation, to strip provenance from material you intend to pass off as someone else's work, or for anything unlawful.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain more free words will result in those accounts being reduced to zero balance.

Plans are billed in advance through Stripe, weekly or annually as you choose. Your word allowance refills at the start of each period and does not roll over.

Usage is counted by word against the text you submit. Scans are free and never counted.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and your remaining allowance stays available until then.

A single unlock is a one-off purchase for one specific result and is not refundable once the result is revealed.

Do not attempt to circumvent quotas, resell access, or automate the service beyond your plan's limits without asking us first.

We may suspend an account that abuses the service, and will explain why if you ask.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account before they take effect.
